Prof Robert Peckham   Professor Robert Peckham

 

Robert Peckham is MB Lee Professor in the Humanities and Medicine and Director of the Centre for the Humanities and Medicine at HKU. He has published widely on the history of science, medicine and health, with a particular focus on infectious disease and technologies of epidemic surveillance. Professor Peckham is the author, most recently, of Epidemics in Modern Asia(Cambridge, 2016) and editor of the forthcoming Cambridge History of Health in Modern Asia (Cambridge). He has held research fellowships at St. Catharine’s College, Cambridge, and St. Peter’s College, Oxford. From 2008-2011 he was Visiting Fellow at the London School of Economics and Political Science, and in 2017-2018 he was Visiting Scholar at New York University. His email address is rpeckham@hku.hk.
