Pamela Gilbert is Albert Brick Professor in the Department of English at the University of Florida. Her books include The Citizen’s Body (Ohio State University Press, 2007), and Cholera and Nation (SUNY Press, 2008). Professor Gilbert is currently working on the history of the body in nineteenth century Britain. She is the editor of the forthcoming Companion to Sensation Fiction (Blackwell, 2011).
