Engage Across Generations: A Student Forum with Tim Carpenter

Date: 12 April 2013
Time: 12:30 - 1:30 pm
Venue: CPD-3.01, 3/F, Run Run Shaw Tower, Centennial Campus, The University of Hong Kong

poster In Engage Across Generations, students from the University of Hong Kong explore real-life challenges brought by the demographic transition towards an aging society in Hong Kong and China, which involve not only the elderly but also the young generation. Migration, urbanization, changes in family structures and patterns of socialization are affecting the aging society and our daily lives. Participants, many of whom are involved in student-led humanitarian projects in Hong Kong and China, reflect on the importance – and urgency – of social integration and the need for building a new intergenerational partnership, underpinned by reciprocal support and the exchange of resources.
