IC4CH Symposium

Bridging Traditions, Building Futures: Connecting Health Communication Research Across Asia-Pacific and Other Contexts

The Centre for the Humanities and Medicine of HKU proudly takes the lead in hosting this year's International Consortium for Healthcare Communication (IC4CH) Symposium. The event brings together top academic researchers from institutions worldwide, including Australia, Singapore, South Africa, the US, and the UK, to showcase and discuss cutting-edge, interdisciplinary research focused on enhancing healthcare communication through evidence-based practices. Over two days, the event will foster dialogue among researchers, healthcare professionals, policymakers, NGOs, and other stakeholders. While the event highlights the work of IC4CH members, it also creates space for additional scholars and stakeholders to share diverse perspectives, enriching the exchange of ideas. With a special focus on advancing health communication research in the Asia-Pacific region, an area historically underrepresented, the symposium explores emerging technologies like telehealth and AI, emphasizing their impact on clinical communication and healthcare delivery in our rapidly evolving digital landscape.
